Star Table topper

I started this little quilt in 2006!  Another reminder that I have improved a little in piecing over the years. That is just fine, it is finished.  Last week it was in the "what the  the heck is this?" box. Now it is getting its picture taken, posted on the world wide web and meeting Chiffon's approval. PPP

The PPP Whole Cloth

Practice, Practice, Practice; then Enjoy!

I finally took the time to put a solid white quilt sandwich on my machine and just play. I spent about 12 hours stitching random designs to practice and get familiar with my machine. I started to call the quilt.."My Way" because, well; mistakes, I made a few. After I put the binding on and took few steps back I was pleased with the result. I think Chiffon is as well. She rolled and scratched, picked out her spot on a large feather motif and went to sleep. I call that a success, because after all that is why I make quilts.  September 24, 2017

The Sheep is in the Meadow.....

And so it begins......Years ago after I started quilting, I saw some penny rugs made from wool. I boldly proclaimed, "I would never be interested in doing that!".  A very few years later my daughter took me to a quilt shop in Liberty Missouri where I bought, "Just a few fat quarters of wool.". I made a couple of pincushions and that was enough.  I recently was looking for a pattern for a toy for my granddaughter and ran across an Etsy shop..gingermelon. She had the cutest felt doll and animal patterns........
The wool adventure began again. I later found the pattern for "sheep in the sunflowers" on Etsy as well, at cheswick company. Needles(s) to say I was interested and now I am looking at penny rugs in a whole new way.  However, I should have seen this coming; I said I would never be interested in quilting, several fat quarters ago.
